Teen Counselling and Therapy in Melbourne (Ages 1217)

Supporting teens to understand emotions, build coping skills and strengthen confidence.

Adolescence is a time of change, growth and increased independence. It can also be a time of big feelings, self-doubt, stress, and pressure — socially, academically or within family life. Many parents reach out when things start to feel challenging, confusing, or when they’re unsure how to support their teen in a way that feels helpful.

At Melbourne Children’s Psychology Clinic (MCPC), we provide warm, evidence-based counselling for teens aged 12–17. We help young people make sense of their emotions, develop coping tools, build confidence and feel more grounded — while supporting parents to stay connected in ways that feel respectful and supportive.

What to Expect

The first session usually involves both you and your teen so we can understand what has been happening, what matters most, and what support may be helpful. We take time to build comfort and trust — whether through conversation, shared reflection, or creative approaches depending on age and preference.

Ongoing sessions provide a safe space for teens to talk, explore feelings, and learn coping strategies. Parents are included in supportive ways, with guidance to help communication and connection at home while also respecting the young person’s privacy.
