Parent, Infant & Family Support

Supporting connection, confidence and emotional wellbeing in family life.

Parenting can be deeply meaningful — and also overwhelming at times. The early years may bring joy and closeness alongside exhaustion, uncertainty and moments of wondering what your child needs — and what you need as a parent. As children grow, family dynamics change, and parenting can feel different at each stage.

Many parents reach out when daily life feels tense, when a child is experiencing strong emotions or challenges, or when connection feels harder than usual. Others simply want guidance and reassurance through developmental transitions.

When Support May Be Helpful

Support may be helpful when families are navigating challenges in early childhood or within family relationships that are affecting connection, confidence or daily life.

Infants & Early Childhood

Families may seek support when their baby or young child is experiencing:

  • Feeding difficulties or routine transitions

  • Frequent crying, difficulty soothing, or high sensitivity

  • Big feelings, frustration or emotional outbursts

  • Separation anxiety or distress in new situations

  • Sleep and settling challenges

Parenting & Family Relationships

Support can also be helpful when families are experiencing:

  • Feeling overwhelmed, stressed or unsure where to begin

  • Worries about connection or bonding

  • Sibling conflict affecting home life

  • Differences in parenting approaches between caregivers

  • Major family transitions (new baby, school changes, relocation)

  • Separation, blended families or co-parenting challenges

  • Foster care, kinship care, permanent care or adoption contexts

  • Diverse family structures, including same-sex parented families

When Support May Be Helpful

Our work with families focuses on strengthening connection, understanding and confidence in everyday parenting.

Understanding Your Child’s Emotional Needs

We help you make sense of your child’s emotional cues and communication, particularly when behaviour feels confusing or overwhelming.

Supporting Co-Regulation and Emotional Safety

We work alongside you to strengthen co-regulation and create a sense of safety and predictability at home.

Building Confidence and Clarity in Parenting

Support is grounded in practical guidance, helping you feel clearer and more confident in responding to your child’s needs.

Developing Predictable Routines

We explore routines and structures that help children feel secure and supported.

Reducing Stress and Self-Blame

Parenting can feel isolating or overwhelming. Sessions provide space to reflect, reduce stress and shift unhelpful self-criticism.

Strengthening Attuned Family Relationships

We focus on connection, responsiveness and strengthening relationships within the family system.

Reflective Support for Parents

When helpful, we offer space for parents to reflect on their own experiences and how these shape family dynamics.

What to Expect

Support is tailored to your family’s needs and may include:

  • Parent Consultation — understanding your child’s development, temperament and environment

  • Parent–Child Sessions — supporting co-regulation, shared play and emotional connection

  • Individual Parent Support — space to reflect on parenting experiences, identity and wellbeing

  • Collaboration With Other Supports (with consent) — such as MCH nurses, GPs, educators or allied health clinicians

Our focus is always on strengthening your relationship with your child.

Take the Next Step

If you’re not sure where to begin, that’s okay.

We start with a conversation to understand what’s happening and explore what support may be helpful.
