Dr Theuma is a registered Clinical Psychologist who completed her doctorate at The University of Auckland. She has worked across public and private clinical settings in Auckland, Sydney, London and Melbourne, providing psychological assessment and treatment to adolescents and adults.


Dr Theuma has experience working with a broad range of presentations, including anxiety disorders, panic, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex PTSD (CPTSD), eating disorders, self-esteem and body image concerns, self-harm, interpersonal difficulties, and emotional dysregulation. She has a particular interest and experience in trauma and eating disorders and has undertaken specialised training in these areas.


Dr Theuma also works from a neurodiversity-affirming framework and has experience supporting children and adolescents with ADHD, with a focus on developing practical strategies to improve attention, organisation, emotional regulation and academic functioning.


Dr Theuma adopts a collaborative, formulation-driven approach, with an emphasis on developing a strong therapeutic relationship and delivering evidence-based, individualised treatment. Her primary therapeutic modalities include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT-E), Family-Based Treatment (FBT), Schema Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). She is also a provider of the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), which may be used in session or remotely to support and enhance therapeutic outcomes.
