Jess is a registered psychologist who has completed her master’s in clinical psychology. She has a wealth of experience working with children and adolescents, parents and families. Prior to her career in psychology, Jess worked as a registered nurse at the Alfred Hospital, The Royal Children’s Hospital, headspace and across Kenya and India.

Jess has previously worked in a family-based Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) at The Royal Children’s Hospital providing specialist treatment to young children and families (ages 0 to 15) who present with moderate to severe, complex and disabling problems and disorders. She has worked with eating disorders since 2017 at The Royal Children’s Hospital and headspace. Currently, Jess also works at the Austin Hospital in their Specialist Eating Disorder Service where she supports and consults with the case managers across the Infant, Child and Youth Mental Health Services (ICYMHS) on their eating disorder clients. 

Jess enjoys working with trauma, mood disorders, eating disorders, body image and self-esteem difficulties, high risk behaviours, self-harm and suicidal ideation, anger management difficulties, attachment difficulties, Autism and other developmental difficulties. Jess has a strong interest in parenting and frequently works with parents on an individual or couple’s basis, supporting parents (together or separated) through the challenges they face as parents. Jess is also seeing young adults at the clinic from ages 18-30 and welcomes these referrals. 

Jess uses a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed psychotherapy, Interpersonal Process Therapy (IPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mentalization based Therapy (MBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and family therapy. She also does Family Based Treatment (FBT) for eating disorders and CBT-e for eating disorders. 

Jess is warm, welcoming and accepting in her approach. She is passionate about ensuring that the client feels safe and understood. Jess believes that it is through this safety and understanding that young people, parents and families can begin to reconnect with their well-being.
