Lisa Bates is a registered psychologist. She has a Doctorate in Health Psychology with Health Endorsement. She has worked extensively with adolescents and adults in private practice assisting her clients to cope with the psychological impact of chronic health conditions. She has experience working in acute mental health and assessing risk in adolescents and adults presenting in crisis. She has previously worked with children and adolescents at Monash medical centre as part of the Play Therapy department and experience working with mothers and their preterm infants with interventions focussing on their development and attachment processes.
Lisa has additional specialised training and experience working with people presenting with experience of trauma. She is trained in trauma informed therapies including CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and Prolonged Exposure. She has recently undertaken training in CBT-e to assist clients coping with an eating disorder.
