Sophie is a registered psychologist with over 15 years experience working in a range of clinical and organisational psychology roles. Sophie has worked in roles including lecturing at the University of Melbourne and Deakin University, designing professional development for mental health clinicians, career counselling and most recently clinical counselling in a secondary school setting. Sophie has experience working with young people presenting with a range of difficulties including low mood, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and challenges associated with neurodiversity.
Sophie adopts a collaborative therapeutic approach involving families and schools to support the young person. She utilises treatment techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and most recently developed an interest in Schema Therapy.
